An alternative to S. Harris' probabilistic analysis is devoted to. There are new proofs for the existence, asymptotics and uniqueness of traveling wave solutions to the Kolmogorov-Petrovskii-Piskunov equation. The technique is based on the study of martingales that arise in branching Brownian motion. Some new results concerning convergence of the martingales are obtained.
