Lipschitz operators (Q917889): Difference between revisions

Let (\({\mathcal B},G,U)\) denote a continuous isometric representation of the Lie group G on the Banach space \({\mathcal B}\). Further let \({\mathcal B}_ n\) denote the \(C_ n\)-elements of the representation and \(\| \cdot \|_ n\) the corresponding \(C_ n\)-norm. It is proved that if K: \({\mathcal B}\mapsto {\mathcal B}\) is dissipative and satisfies the Lipschitz condition \(\| (U(g)KU(g)^{-1}-K)a\| \leq c| g| \cdot \| g\|_ 1\), \(a\in {\mathcal B}_{\infty}\), \(| g| <1\), then its closure \(\bar K\) generates a \(C_ 0\)-semigroup of contractions T. Moreover, T leaves invariant the Lipschitz spaces which interpolate between \({\mathcal B}\) and \({\mathcal B}_ 1.\) The result is based on singular perturbation and regularization methods and the theory of Lipschitz spaces as proposed earlier by the same author. The main result contains several well known theorems as special cases, among others the Cauchy-Picard-Lindelöf theorem, the Glimm-Jaffe commutator theorem and the Goodman-Jørgensen theorem.
