The authors propose a discontinuous finite volume element method with three interior penalties to approximate the coupled non-stationary Stokes-Darcy model. The well-posedness of the discrete problem is shown. The convergence in \(L^2\)- and broken \(H^1\)-norms are proved for the semi-discrete formulation and the backward Euler fully discrete scheme. Some numerical tests are presented to support the theoretical results.
