A normalized univalent and analytic function \(f\) in \(\Delta = \{z : | z | < 1\}\) is said to be uniformly convex \((UCV)\), if for every arc \(\gamma\) of a circle contained in \(\Delta\) with its center is also in \(\Delta\), \(f(\gamma)\) is a convex curve. A similar definition describes the class \(UST\) of uniformly starlike functions. Ed. Merkes and Mohammed Salmassi [Int. J. Math. Math. Sci. 15, No. 3, 449-454 (1992; Zbl 0758.30008)] gave an analytic characterization for functions in \(UST\). The author of this paper obtained, in terms of Hadamard convolution, a necessary and sufficient condition for \(UCV\). Let \(\Omega\) be the parabolic region \(v^ 2 < 2u-1\) and \({\mathcal S}_ p\) be the class of normalized analytic functions such that \(zf'(z)/f(z)\) is in \(\Omega\). Using a result of \textit{F. Rønning} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 118, No. 1, 189-196 (1993; reviewed below)] the author proved that if \(f \in UCV\) then for \(| \varepsilon | < 1/4\) one has \((1 + \varepsilon)^{- 1} (f(z) + \varepsilon z) \in {\mathcal S}_ p\). Among other results, he also considered the problem of finding the neighbourhoods of functions in \(UCV\).
