Geometry of curves in generalized flag varieties (Q2377149): Difference between revisions

The authors focus on the local geometry of curves on generalized flag varieties which are integral curves of the natural vector distribution. For these curves a method is presented for constructing moving frames. The goal of this method is that it can be applied to arbitrary curves, that is, without imposing non-degeneracy conditions. Along the paper, they develop these techniques and provide examples. By using these tools, the authors determine when the projective parameters exist for curves of fixed type. Moreover, they study the solution space of a given ODE of order \(\geq 3\) and they obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of confromal, symplectic and \(G_2\) structures on this space in terms of the Wilczynski invariants.
