The authors discuss the Dirichlet boundary value problem (BVP) of \[ \Delta u_i=\kappa u_i \sum_{j\not= i}b_{ij}u_j \] and initial boundary value problem (IBVP) of \[ \frac{\partial u_i}{\partial t}-\Delta u_i=-\kappa u_i\sum_{j\not= i}b_{ij}u_j, \] where \(b_{ij}=b_{ji}\), \(i=1,2,\dots,M\). The existence of positive solution for the elliptic equation was already given in [\textit{M. Conti, S. Terracini} and \textit{G. Verzini}, Adv. Math. 195, No. 2, 524--560 (2005; Zbl 1126.35016)]. Now, in the present article, the authors obtain the uniqueness of solution for BVP, a uniform Lipschitz estimate for both BVP and IBVP. They also discuss the situation when \(\kappa\to \infty\). The existence and uniqueness of solutions of BVP and IBVP for this limit situation are obtained. It is shown that the unique solution of IBVP (\(\kappa\to \infty\)) tends to the unique solution of BVP (\(\kappa\to \infty\)) as \(t\to \infty\).
