The authors present some special interpretations of some aspects of the Goldberg-Sachs theorem. They put this theorem in a form valid for complex metrics as well as for real metrics of any signature. After presenting some convenient sharper versions of the Goldberg-Sachs theorem they present some aspects concerning the totally null \(2\)-planes in four dimensions and the signature independent Newman-Penrose formalism. They present a detailed analysis of the conditions involved in the theorem of Goldberg-Sachs. Next they deal with some generalizations of the Goldberg-Sachs theorem for complex metrics obtaining a generalization of the theorem of Penrose and Rindler. Then they present the real version of the results obtained above, in the complex case. At the end, the authors present a counter-example to Trautman's conjecture. They obtain a canonical (pseudo) hermitian-Weyl connection on a \(4\)-dimensional (pseudo) hermitian manifold \((M,g,J)\) that encodes the conformal properties of \((M,g,J)\).
