Let \(\Omega \subset R^N\) be a bounded domain with smooth boundary. Let \(\Phi \in C^1(0,\infty )\) be positive and such that \(t\mapsto t\Phi (t)\) is strictly increasing, \(t\Phi (t)\to 0\) as \(t\to 0\), \(t\Phi (t)\to \infty \) as \(t\to \infty \). Let \(f\in C(\Omega \times R)\), \(f(x,0)=0\) for all \(x\in \Omega \). Under suitable growth conditions to \(f\), the authors prove the existence of multiple solutions for the Dirichlet problem for the quasilinear elliptic equation \(-\mathrm{div}(\Phi (|\nabla u|)\nabla u)=f(x,u)\) in \(\Omega \), \(u=0\) on \(\partial \Omega \). The authors work in the framework of the Orlicz-Sobolev space \(W^{1,\Phi }_0(\Omega )\).
