The key problem, which is considered in this work, is an existence of the minimizer for the Gross-Pitaevkii energy functional, which indicates the phenomenon of Bose-Einstein condensation in the case of inhomogeneous attractive interaction. The problem is considered in the 2D axially symmetric case. It is proven that such a geometry results in the interconnection of the interaction strength (independently on an exact shape of a inhomogeneity function \(m(r)\) if \(0<m(r)<1\)) and the quadratic norm of the unique positive radial solution of the equation \(\Delta u-u+u^3=0\) (the nonlinear functional structure of the latter corresponds to the integrand of the Gross-Pitaevskii functional).
