The authors discuss invariants for Laplacians on periodic graphs. After introducing minimal forms on graphs and Schrödinger operators on periodic graphs, the main result, a decomposition of the Schrödinger operator into a constant fiber direct integral, is stated. Further, the spectrum of the Schrödinger operator is discussed, and the Lebesgue measure of the spectrum bands is estimated. To get those results, minimal forms of graphs and their properties are introduced in the next section. As a final ingredient, properties of the direct integral and the direct integral decomposition are presented.
