A general form of the Kramer sampling theorem is proved in which the Kramer kernel has the analytic properties of kernels which arise in the study of boundary-value problems of linear ordinary differential expressions and the associated differential operators. Two proofs of the main theorem are given, to emphasise the significance of the result in terms of both classical and functional analysis.
