The author examines the existence of power integral bases in sixth degree number fields \(L=\mathbb Q(w,q^{1/3})\) where \(q \in \mathbb Z\) and \(w\) is a primitive third root of unity. If \(1,\alpha,\dots ,\alpha^5\) is an integral basis of \(L\) then \(1,\alpha,\alpha^2\) is a relative integral basis of \(L / \mathbb Q(w)\). The author uses bounds for the index of the order \(\mathbb Z [w,q^{1/3}]\) in the maximal order of \(L\) for establishing a suitable representation of candidates for \(\alpha\). This representation then allows him to prove by discriminant computations that no power integral bases can exist for \(L\) if \(q \neq 2\). He then uses known methods for the calculation of all power integral bases of \(\mathbb Q (w,q^{1/3})\).
