Properties of accumulation points X in the Gromov-Hausdorff metric of a sequence \(\{M_ i\}\) of compact connected n-dimensional Riemannian manifolds with lower sectional curvature bound k and upper diameter bound D are given. In theorem A metric and dimension properties of the length space X are proved. In theorem B it is proved that X is the n-dimensional sphere or the n-dimensional real projective space with constant curvature k and diameter D if the volumes of \(M_ i\) converge to the volume of a D-ball in the n-dimensional simply connected space form of curvature k.
