    Different types of stability for nonlinear finite-dimensional dynamical systems are studied in detail. Several sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability are formulated and proved using the general invariance principle. Two illustrative simple numerical examples are also presented. Moreover, the relationships between different concepts of stability are explained. Similar considerations concerning stability of nonlinear systems have recently been presented by \textit{V. Lakshmikantham} and \textit{X. Lin} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 140, No. 1, 107-114 (1989; Zbl 0681.34045)].
