The paper presents an application of the chaotic synchronization concept to communication. In particular, a digital communnication scheme is proposed, which is based on the master-slave configuration \[ \begin{alignedat}{2} x_m'&=f(x_m,y_m), &\quad y_m'&=g(x_m,y_m), \\ x_s'&=f(x_m,y_s), &\quad y_s'&=g(x_m,y_s), \end{alignedat} \] where \((x_m,y_m)\) are variables of the master system and \((x_s,y_s)\) variables of the slave system. In the communication scheme, the initial condition of the master system is altered by the binary signal to be transmitted.
