A Jordan KdV system is a system of partial differential equations of the form \(u^i_t = u^i_{xxx} + a^i_{jk} u^j u^k_x\), \(i = 1,\dots,N\), where \(a^i_{jk}\) are structure constants of an \(N\)-dimensional Jordan algebra. Jordan KdV systems are completely integrable (have infinite series of symmetries and conservation laws, as well as a recursion operator) [\textit{S. I. Svinolupov}, Funct. Anal. Appl. 27, No. 4, 257-265 (1993); translation from Funkts. Anal. Prilozh. 27, No. 4, 40-53 (1993; Zbl 0840.35099) and Theor. Math. Phys. 87, No. 3, 611-620 (1991); translation from Teor. Mat. Fiz. 87, No. 3, 391-403 (1991; Zbl 0746.35044)]. In the present paper the Weiss-Tabor-Carnevale test is applied to Jordan KdV systems in the simplest case \(N = 2\). For the Painlevé admissible subclass, when, as it turns out, the system is transformable to the pair \[ U_t = U_{xxx} + U U_x,\quad V_t = V_{xxx} + {1\over2} (U V)_x, \] a Bäcklund transformation is derived.
