    The authors have obtained various convergence theorems and estimates of approximation for \(2 \pi\)-periodic functions in the class \(Z_\alpha = \{f : |f (x + h) + f(x - h) - 2f(x) |\leq |h |^\alpha\), \(0 < \alpha < 2\}\) by using the operators \[ L_n (f) = {1 \over \pi} \int^\pi_{- \pi} U_n (t - x) f(t) dt, \quad f \in Z_\alpha, \] where \[ U_n (t) = {1 \over 2D_n} \left |\sum^n_{k = 0} \varphi \left( {k \over n} \right) e^{ikt} \right |^2, \quad D_n = \sum^n_{k = 0} \varphi^2 \left( {k \over n} \right), \quad D_n \neq 0. \] In the end by considering an example they have shown that the function \(\widetilde g_\alpha (x) = 2^\alpha [x(1 + x)]^{\alpha/2}\) for \(0.01 \leq \alpha \leq 1.6\) yields better approximation to the functions of the class \(Z_\alpha\) then Fejér, Jackson or Korovkin functions.
