A first place in this paper a holomorphic calculus is introduced which enables the authors to extend the Runge-Kutta convolution quadrature to the non-sectorial case. It is applied to the time discretization of abstract convolution equations. The integral representation of the numerical solution in terms of the continuous solution is given. The error and stability analysis is based on this representation. Several numerical illustrations are provided at the end of the paper.
