The authors denote by nonlinear elliptic Cauchy the following problem: \( -\nabla \cdot ( q( u) \nabla u) =h,\;\)in \(\Omega \subset {\mathbb R}^n,\;u=f,\) at \(\Gamma \subset \partial \Omega ,\;q( u) u_\nu =g,\) at \(\Gamma .\) The main goal is to reconstruct the trace of the \(H^1( \Omega ) \) solution of the nonlinear elliptic equation at \(\partial \Omega /\Gamma .\) Ones propose two iterative methods based on the segmenting Mann iteration applied to fixed point equations, which are closely related to the original problem. In the framework of the first approach the authors obtain a corresponding linear Cauchy problem and they analyze a linear fixed point equation; a convergence proof is given and convergence rates are obtained. In the second approach the authors deduce a nonlinear fixed point equation for the solution of the Cauchy problem and a fully nonlinear iterative method is considered.
