The author uses an \(H^1\)-Galerkin mixed finite element method to approximate the solution as well as the flux of the viscous Burgers' equation. A priori error estimates are derived. The results of numerical experiments show the efficiency of the mixed method and justify the theoretical results obtained in this paper.
