Let \(\psi:\left[ 0,\infty\right) \rightarrow\mathbb{R}\) be a convex continuous function such that \(\psi\left( 0\right) =1\) and \(\lim _{x\rightarrow\infty}\psi\left( x\right) =0,\) and denote by \(\mu\) the function \(\mu\left( t\right) :=t\left( \eta\left( t\right) -t\right) ^{-1},\) where \(\eta\left( t\right) :=\psi^{-1}\left( \frac{1}{2}\psi\left( t\right) \right) .\) For a function \(f\) analytic on \(D:=\left\{ z\in\mathbb{C\mid}\left| z\right| <1\right\} ,\) the function \(f^{\psi}\) defined by \(f^{\psi}\left( z\right) :=\sum_{k=0}^{\infty} \psi\left( k\right) ^{-1}\widehat{f}_{k}z^{k}\) (here \(\sum_{k=0}^{\infty }\widehat{f}_{k}z^{k}\) is the Taylor series of \(f\)) is called the \(\psi\) derivative of \(f\). The set of all analytic functions \(f\) with \(\left\| f^{\psi}\right\| _{\infty}:=\sup_{z\in D}\left| f^{\psi}\left( z\right) \right| <\infty\) is denoted by \(A^{\psi}H_{\infty}\left( D\right)\). For the strong \(\varphi\) Vallée-Poussin means \[ H_{n}^{\varphi}\left( f;z\right) :=\left( \left[ \eta\left( n\right) \right] -n+1\right) ^{-1}\sum_{k=n}^{\left[ \eta\left( n\right) \right] }\varphi\left( \left| \sum_{i=k}^{\infty}\widehat{f}_{k}z^{k}\right| \right) \] and for a more general class of \(\varphi\) means of functions \(f\in A^{\psi }H_{\infty}\left( D\right) ,\) where \(\varphi:\left[ 0,\infty\right) \rightarrow\mathbb{R}\) belongs to a class \(\Phi\) containing the functions \(\varphi\left( u\right) =u^{q}\) \(\left( q>0\right) \) and \(\varphi\left( u\right) =\exp u-1\), the author proves four estimation theorems in terms of best approximations \(E_{n}\left( f^{\psi}\right) _{\infty}.\) For example, Theorem 1 states the following. Let \(\varphi\in\Phi\) and let \(\psi\) be a function such that the function \(\mu\) is either bounded or unbounded and nondecreasing on \(\left( 1,\infty\right) .\) Then there exists a \(K>0\) with \[ \sup_{z\in D}H_{n}^{\varphi}\left( f;z\right) \leq K\varphi\left( \psi\left( n\right) E_{n}\left( f^{\psi}\right) _{\infty}\right) \text{ for all }f\in A^{\psi}H_{\infty}\left( D\right) \text{ and }n\in \mathbb{N}\text{.} \]
