The notion of broken \(k\)-diamond partitions was introduced by \textit{G. E. Andrews} and \textit{P. Paule} [Acta Arith. 126, No. 3, 281--294 (2007; Zbl 1110.05010)] in 2007. For a given positive integer \(k\), let \(\Delta_k(n)\) denote the number of broken \(k\)-diamond partitions of \(n\). Using the theory of modular forms, \textit{C. Radu} and \textit{J. A. Sellers} [Acta Arith. 146, No. 1, 43--52 (2011; Zbl 1226.11112)] established some party results for \(\Delta_k(n)\), where \(k\in\{2,3,5,6,8,9,11\}\). \textit{O. X. M. Yao} [J. Number Theory 140, Part C, 267--276 (2014; Zbl 1296.11133)] proved several infinite families of congruences modulo 2 for \(\Delta_{11}(n)\) which generalize the results of Radu and Sellers on \(\Delta_{11}(n)\). Soon after, \textit{Z. Ahmed} and \textit{N. D. Baruah} [Int. J. Number Theory 11, No. 2, 527--542 (2015; Zbl 1318.11133)] also proved some congruences modulo 2 for \(\Delta_{11}(n)\). Recently, \textit{H. Dai} [Ramanujan J. 42, No. 3, 617--622 (2017; Zbl 1422.11213)] proved new infinite families of congruences modulo 2 for \(\Delta_{11}(n)\) by utilizing Hecke operators. With the help of an identity due to \textit{M. Newman} [Ann. Math. (2) 70, 478--489 (1959; Zbl 0090.05502)], the author proves an infinite family of congruences modulo 2 for \(\Delta_{11}(n)\) which generalize some results of Dai [loc. cit.]. Moreover, the author also deduces some strange congruences modulo 2 for \(\Delta_{11}(n)\). More precisely, he proves that for any \(k,\:n\geq0\) and prime \(p_i\neq23\) \((1\leq i\leq k+1)\), \[ \Delta_{11}{\left(2p_1^{\alpha(p_1)}\cdots p_k^{\alpha(p_k)}p_{k+1}^{\alpha(p_{k+1})}n +2p_1^{\alpha(p_1)}\cdots p_k^{\alpha(p_k)}p_{k+1}^{\alpha(p_{k+1})-1}r+1\right)}\equiv0\pmod{2}, \] where \(1\leq r\leq p_{k+1}-1\) and \[ \alpha(p_i)=\begin{cases} 2, &\text{if }\Delta_{11}(2p_i+1)\text{ is even},\\ 3, &\text{if }\Delta_{11}(2p_i+1)\text{ is odd}. \end{cases} \] Moreover, \[ \Delta_{11}{\left(2p_1^{\alpha(p_1)}\cdots p_k^{\alpha(p_k)}p_{k+1}^{\alpha(p_{k+1})}+1\right)} \equiv1\pmod{2}. \]
