The paper contains a study of periodic points of invertible series in \(X{\mathcal O} [[X]]\), with \({\mathcal O}\) being the ring of integers of a finite extension of \(\mathbb{Q}_p\), by elementary tools. This is applied to a generalization of \textit{J. Lubin}'s proof [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 123, No. 1, 63-66 (1995; Zbl 0816.12004)] of \textit{S. Sen}'s theorem [Ann. Math., II. Ser. 90, 33-46 (1969; Zbl 0199.36301)] on the breaks of powers of a wild automorphism in local fields.
