Properties of symmetric reductive spaces and their truncations are studied by using the notion of wave packet instead of the Plancherel formula. One considers a reductive Lie group \(G\) and an open subgroup \(H\) of the fixed (under the involutions \(\sigma\) of \(G\)) point group. Then the subgroup \(K\) of fixed points under the Cartan involutions \(\theta\) which commute with \(\sigma\) is introduced. For any unitary finite dimensional representation \(\tau\) of \(K\) the space \(\widetilde{\text{II}}_{\text{hol}}' (G,M,\tau)\) is defined as the subspace of \(C^\infty\)-functions over \(G/H\) which are \(\tau\)-spherical, where \(M\) is a \(\theta\)-stable Levi subgroup. It is proven that for any \(F\in \widetilde{\text{II}}_{\text{hol}}' (G,M,\tau)\) and \(F'\in \widetilde{\text{II}}_{\text{hol}}' (G,M',\tau)\), the quantity \[ \Omega^T(F,F', \lambda,\lambda')= \int_{G/H} 1_{S_T} (F(\lambda)(x), F'(\lambda')(x))dx \] is asymptotic to an analytic function \(\omega^T(F,F',\lambda,\lambda')\) in the variables \(\lambda\) and \(\lambda'\). An explicit expression of the function \(\omega^T (F,F',\lambda,\lambda')\) along some parabolic subgroups is given. This makes it possible to calculate the integral on \(G/H\) of the product between a wave packet and a holomorphic function in \(\widetilde{\text{II}}_{\text{hol}}'\).
