Let \(F=\mathbb{C}(z)\) be a differential field of rational functions of the variable \(z\) with complex coefficients. It is proved that the equation \[ y'=P(y) \] with \(P\in F[y]\) and \(\text{deg\,}P\geq 2\) has only a finite number of polynomial solutions and they can be computed by the method of undetermined coefficients in a systematic manner. Then, the authors show that the search for the rational solutions of such equation is reduced to the search for polynomial solutions of an auxiliary equation.
