Let \(S\) be the Riemann surface, \(F\) be its field of meromorphic functions and \((1)\; \dot \mathbf x = \mathbf f(t,\mathbf x)\) be a system of first order non-autonomous differential equations in \(S\). The authors take out a subclass of such systems, called Levi-Vessiot systems, possessing a superposition law. It means that the general solution \(\mathbf x\) of the system (1) analytically depends on particular solutions \({\mathbf x_1}, \ldots ,{\mathbf x_r}\) and arbitrary constants. In particular, in case of rational dependence, we obtain a strongly normal extension \(F({\mathbf x_1}, \ldots ,{\mathbf x_r})\) of a field \(F\). A Levi-Vessiot system is automatically translated into an equation in a Lie group that is called automorphic system (compare with automorphic extension in [\textit{J. F. Pommaret}, Differential Galois Theory. Mathematics and Its Applications, Vol. 15. New York-London-Paris: Gordon and Breach (1983; Zbl 0539.12013)]. For automorphic systems the authors propose a new differential Galois theory which is similar to Kolchin's theory for \(G\)-primitive extensions, see [\textit{E. R. Kolchin}, Differential algebra and algebraic groups. New York etc.: Academic Press (1973; Zbl 0264.12102)].
