The authors consider the spline collocation method for the Volterra integral equation of the second kind \[ y(t)=\int_0^T K(t,s,y(s)) \,ds + f(t), \quad t \in [0,T]. \] A principal extension of the treatment is the collocation with multiple kinds. The author proves the convergence and convergence rates of the step-by-step spline collocation method for Volterra integral equations under purely algebraic conditions depending only on the smoothness and the order of the splines and the collocation parameters. Applications in the case of the most practical types of spline are analyzed.
