The paper is based on work of \textit{T. N. T. Goodman} [J. Approximation Theory 44, 132-153 (1985; Zbl 0569.41010)]. The authors derive complete formulas for computing the Béziers points of cubic \(\beta\)-splines with possibly multiple knot assignments, and outline the solution of the same problem for tensor product \(\beta\)-spline surfaces. They show by examples how the polygons based on Béziers points are superior to spline polygons.
