Lattice wavelets are placed at the fundament of the renormalization group (RG) to treat interacting fermions on a lattice. Previous work has revealed that there is some `orthogonality between different scales' that simplified the construction of correlation functions. The extension of these results for fermionic systems is discussed in the present work, though no specific model of selfinteracting Fermi fields is considered. The article has two parts: the first part reviews important results (uniform exponential decay etc.) and structures published earlier, then points at some generalizations of the known RG method, and finally discusses lattice wavelets suitably adapted to the Fermi situation. The second part is devoted to the explaining the multiscale formalism for interacting fermions. The hope is expressed that the RG flow may even be easier for fermions than it is for bosons.
