The authors consider fuzzy numbers as normal, upper semi-continuous, strictly fuzzy-convex and bounded-supported mappings \(u:\mathbb{R}\longrightarrow [0,1]\). With this approach, the space of one-dimensional fuzzy numbers is taken as a closed convex cone in the Banach space \(C[0,1]\times C[0,1]\). Using this representation, they study the existence of a solution to boundary value problems associated with second-order fuzzy differential equations. The authors establish conditions which allow to write a two-point boundary value problem as an equivalent fuzzy integral equation. Then results on existence of a solution and existence of a unique solution are deduced by applying Schauder's fixed point theorem and contraction mapping principle. An example is provided in order to illustrate the applicability of the main results. Some other references strongly connected with this work are: \textit{V. Lakshmikantham, K. N. In fact, this work represents a revision of the results in the first two above-mentioned references and it provides an answer to one of the problems proposed in the third one.
