[The articles of this volume will not be indexed individually.] The five parts (23 chapters) of this book contain the outcome of lectures on electrohydrodynamics (EHD). Strong emphasis is placed on analogies between phenomena of EHD and other branches of physics. This book is mostly addressed to engineering scientists. The first two parts (9 chapters) present electrohydrodynamics, conduction phenomena, surface waves on charged interfaces, EHD pumping processes in homogeneous liquid dielectrics, Maxwell's equations, transport of electric charges and polarization phenomena, thermodynamics of liquid dielectrics (energy equation), Navier-Stokes equations, and nondimensional numbers in EHD. Parts 3 and 4 deal with electrical conductivity, unipolar injections instabilities, finite-amplitude convection, pre-breakdown and breakdown in insulating liquids, stability of a horizontal layer between two electrodes, electroconvection in co-axial cylinders, and electroconvection experiments in co-axial wires and cylinders. Part 5 (5 chapters) describes two-phase EHD flows and shortly, the application of strong electric fields to enhance heat and mass transfer in industrial installations.
