The purpose of the paper is the application of the so-called material time as a time parameter to cosmology. The general idea of this formalism consists in representation of fluid configurations in the form of mapping \(\phi\) from spacetime into a material manifold, which is four- dimensional. An analytic solution to the Friedman equation describing the universe filled with monoatomic gas with rest mass is found.
