A continuation of the authors' paper [in Commun. Math. Phys. 112, 663-689 (1987; Zbl 0637.53037)], which relates to Donaldson's work. The geometry of the Yang-Mills moduli space of self dual SU(2) connections over a compact Riemannian 4-manifold is studied. One of the main results states that the moduli space is incomplete as a metric space and has a compact closure and thus finite diameter.
