The ``building blocks'' for the solution (in abstract, set-valued terms) of an attainability problem (and other related important problems of control theory) for systems described by ordinary differential equations with conditions on controls and coordinates in the case of perfect information are presented. The statement of the attainability problem, the determination of attainability domains in direct and reverse time, the problems of synthesizing control strategies which cause the constrained dynamic system to move from an arbitrary state to the predefined target/objective set, and other problems (computation of safety zones with the use of price functions, approximate estimates for the solution of ``direct'' Hamilton/Jacobi/Bellman equation) are reviewed and discussed in the unifying framework of Hamiltonian formalism.
