The introduction to this paper describes some general interdisciplinary relations between computer science, mathematics and physics, applied to the notion of a spacetime. In section 2, a generalization of the Minkowski spacetime of special relativity is given which keeps the time as usual, but allows arbitrary metric spaces as spatial part of spacetime, they even do not need to be locally Euclidean. The main result of this section is a relation between quasi-pseudometrics on the one hand and causality relations which are a pre-order on the other. Section 3 introduces symmetries into spacetime and shows their relation to causality. Section 4 deals with the anti-triangle inequality. The result of this section can be roughly formulated as follows: the twin paradox from special relativity keeps its structure also for the class of quasi-pseudometrics discussed in the present paper.
