To confirm the conjecture of G. Bruns that every variety of modular ortholattices containing an SI-member of height greater than 2, contains an SI-member of height 3, the authors prove the following statement: Every variety of modular ortholattices which is generated by its atomistic members is generated by its finite-dimensional members.
