This paper deals with polynomials orthogonal on the unit circle. The monic polynomials \(\phi_n(z)\) satisfy a system of difference equations \[ \begin{cases} \phi_{n+1}(z)=z\phi_n(z)-\overline{a}_n\phi^*_n(z), &\phi_0(z)=1\\ \phi^*_{n+1}(z)=\phi^*_n(z)-a_nz\phi_n(z), &\phi^*_0(z)=1,\end{cases} \] where \(\phi^*_n(z)=z^n\overline{\phi}_n(z^{-1})\) denote the reverse polynomials. The coefficients \(\{a_n\}\) are called reflection coefficients. It is well known that \(| a_n| <1\) for all \(n=0,1,2,\dots\,\). It is also known that the orthogonality measure is a so-called Erdős measure, which means that the essential support of its absolutely continuous component is the whole interval \([-\pi,\pi]\), if \(\{a_n\}\in\ell^2\). In this paper it is shown that if \(\{a_n\}\in\ell^4\) and \(\{a_{n+1}-a_n\}\in\ell^2\), then the corresponding measure is an Erdős measure.
