The non-commutative two-torus \({\mathbb T}_\theta^2\) was introduced by Rieffel. The authors consider for integral values of \(\theta\) the orbifold \({\mathbb T}_\theta^2/G\) with \(G=\mathbb Z/N\) for \(N=2,3,4,6\). In generalization of results obtained by \textit{R. Gopakumar, M. Headrick} and \textit{M. Spradlin} [Commun. Math. Phys. 233, 355--381 (2003; Zbl 1018.58002)], they construct a certain set of projection operators in the algebra. The projectors correspond to solitons in a noncommutative field theory. The case of \(N=6\) is considered in detail. Theta functions appear in this context.
