Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring with identity. The Hermite dimension of R is defined to be the least \(integer\quad r\) such that every stably free R-module of rank greater than r is free. In this paper we study rings R obtained upon inversion of elements of a given ring A. We show that the Hermite dimension of R does not depend on Hermite dimension of A, it depends on the Krull dimension of A.
