The volumes of hexahedral cells with ``ruled'' surfaces are converted to surface integrals and the contribution from each face is expressed in terms of the coordinates of its vertices. The resultant sharing of surface contributions between adjacent cells enables the average number of floating point operations per cell in a computation to be reduced from 122 to 57.
