In this paper, the author gives examples of algebras that are not weakly silting connected, i.e., for which iterated silting mutation does not act transitively on the set of silting objects in \(K^b(\mathrm{proj}\text{-}A).\) The silting quivers in these examples have infinitely many connected components, even if one includes edges for reducible silting mutations. The proof for these examples uses a proposition that says that if each indecomposable object in a silting subcategory \(\mathcal{M}\) is invariant under an automorphism of the ambient triangulated category \(\mathcal{T},\) then the same is true for any mutation of \(\mathcal{M}.\) The author applies this fact to the algebras under consideration by showing that they admit spherical modules and hence tilting complexes associated with the corresponding spherical twists that are not invariant under such an automorphism. Then, the author gives a sufficient condition for an algebra to be silting disconnected, as follows : For a finite-dimensional algebra of finite global dimension, with \(\sigma\) an algebra automorphism of \(A\) which fixes \(e_i\) for each \(e_i\) of a complete set of primitive orthogonal idempotent of \(A,\) if there is an \(A\)-module \(E\) that is \(d\)-spherical inside \(D^b(\mathrm{mod}\text{-}A)\) for some \(d \geq 2\) and \(E^\sigma \ncong E,\) then \(A\) is not weakly silting connected. Its extended silting quiver has infinitely many connected components. The author also gives a family of gentle algebras to which one can apply this result.
