Solvable subgroups of unitary groups (Q1920693): Difference between revisions

Denote \(F=\text{GF}(p^t)\) and let \(k\) be a quadratic extension field of \(F\); \(\delta:x\to\overline x\) an \(F\)-involution of \(k\); \(V\) a \(q\)-dimensional vector space over \(k\), where \(q\) is an odd prime; and \(U(f,k)\) the automorphism group of a nondegenerate Hermitian form \(f\) on \(V\). We classify all irreducible maximal solvable subgroups in the groups of \(U(f,k)\) and \(\text{SU}(f,k)\) (up to conjugacy).
