    By \(Q_\alpha (\beta)\), \(\alpha \geq 0\), \(\beta < 1\), we denote the class of the functions \(f(z)\), \(f(0) = 0 = f(0) - 1\), regular in the unit disc \(U\) and such that \[ \text{Re} \left\{ (1 - \alpha) {f(z) \over z} + \alpha f'(z) \right\} > \beta, \quad z \in U. \] In this paper some extremal problems for the classes \(Q_\alpha (\beta)\) are investigated. Estimations for \(\text{Re} f' (z)\) are found. The domains on \((\alpha, \beta)\) for which all functions \(f \in Q_\alpha (\beta)\) are univalent were determined. The following results concerning convolution is proved: Theorem. Let \(\alpha > 0\) and \(\beta_1, \beta_2 < 1\). If \(f(z) = z + a_2 z^2 + a_3 z^3 + \dots \in Q_\alpha (\beta_1)\); \(g(z) = z + b_2 z^2 + b_3 z^3 + \dots \in Q_\alpha (\beta_2)\), then \((f* g) (z) : = z + a_2 b_2 z^2 + a_3 b_3 z^3 + \dots \in Q_\alpha (\gamma)\) for \(\gamma = 1 - 4 (1 - \beta_1) (1 - \beta_2) (1 - F(1,1/ \alpha,1 + 1/ \alpha; - 1)\) where \(F\) is the known Gauss hypergeometric function \(F(a,b,c;z)\). The result is sharp. In the proof of this theorem the result of \textit{J. Stankiewicz} and \textit{Z. Stankiewicz} [Ann. Univ. Mariae Curie-Sklodowska, Sect. A 40, 251-265 (1986; Zbl 0642.30019)] concerning convolution of the functions taking values in the given domains are applied.
