Warranty analysis. (Review) (Q1910814): Difference between revisions

Problems related to warranties attract attention in economics and science. They are very similar to those in risk theory, the theory of technical maintenance, etc., but they possess their own specific features. Biedenweg (1981) lists more than 130 papers that have been published in the field of warranty analysis for the last 30 years. In Section 2 of this review we give the basic notions of warranty theory and introduce some notations. We consider the class of models related to the warranty analysis of nonrepairable items, which are mostly investigated in this field. In the third section we deal with special problems of warranty analysis of repairable items and related problems. Section 4 is devoted to studies in which the structure of the product is taken into account. Section 5 considers works on statistical and related problems of warranty theory.
