The authors study the arithmetic of the affine scheme \(Y\subset\mathbb{A}_\mathbb{Q}^6\) defined by the equation \[ (x^2-ay^2)(z^2-bt^2)(u^2-abw^2)=c \] depending on the parameters \(a,b,c\in\mathbb{Q}^\times\). According to \textit{J.-L. Colliot-Thélène} [J. Théor. Nombres Bordx. 26, No. 1, 69--83 (2014; Zbl 1318.14019)], there are no local obstructions against the existence of rational points, and for \(a=13\), \(b=17\) and \(c=5\) one obtains a counterexample for the Hasse Principle. By [\textit{J. J. Sansuc}, J. Reine Angew. Math. 327, 12--80 (1981; Zbl 0468.14007)], the Brauer-Manin obstruction is the only obstruction against the Hasse Principle. The main result is an asymptotic formula for the number of \(Y\) that do not admit a rational point. To do so, the authors consider the set \(S(P)\) of triples \((a,b,c)\) of non-zero square-free integers with \(c>0\) whose absolute values are bounded by the integer \(P\geq 1\), and define \(N_{\text{Br}}(P)\) to be the number of such triples with \(Y(\mathbb{Q})=\emptyset\). The asymptotic formula reads \[ N_{\text{Br}}(P)=\frac{\tau_1P^3}{\log P} - \frac{\tau_2 P^3} {(\log P)^{\frac{3}{2}} } + O\left(\frac{P^3}{(\log P)^2}\right), \] with \[ \tau_1=\frac{45}{\pi^5}\prod_{p>2} \left(1 + \frac{1}{2p(p+1)}\right) + \frac{15}{\pi^5}\prod_{p>2}\left(1+\frac{(-1)^{\frac{p-1}{2}} }{2p(p+1)}\right) \] and a similar number \(\tau_2\). >From this it is deduced that asymptotically the condition \(Y(\mathbb{Q})=\emptyset\) rarely occurs.
