Let \(\pi\in S_n\) be a permutation and let \(P\) be the corresponding permutation matrix. A permutation diagonal matrix is one of the form \(PD\) with \(D\) a diagonal matrix. The authors classify all matrices over the quaternions that are similar to a permutation diagonal matrix in terms of their possible Jordan normal forms.
