In [Commun. Math. Phys. 271, No. 3, 791-820 (2007; Zbl 1133.47025)], the author dealt with the spectral theory of Jacobi matrices \(J(\{a_n\},\{b_n\})\) with \(a_n^2-1\) and \(b_n\) being conditionally summable. The proof of one of the key results (Proposition~5.1) contains two separate errors. In this erratum, the author suggests another approach to this result based on a contraction mapping argument, so that with these corrections the reminder of the above paper is valid as stated.
