We give a geometric description of the Hyodo-Kato structure (Frobenius and monodromy) on the first cohomology space of a projective non singular curve over the algebraically closed completion of the \(p\)-adic numbers. This description uses Coleman's integration techniques along analytic cycles and intersections of such cycles. As a consequence of this construction, we obtain, for example, a canonical splitting of the weight filtration.
