Let \(P\) and \(Q\) be two orthogonal projections in \(B(H)\) and \(W^*(P, Q )\) be the von Neumann algebra generated by \(P\) and \(Q\). In this paper, the authors characterize the norm attaining operators in \(W^*(P, Q )\). If \(T\) is a skew projection (\(T^2=T\)) on a Hilbert space \(H\), then \(T\) is contained in such an algebra. The authors extend the results in [\textit{N. Bala} et al., Linear Algebra Appl. 622, 150--165 (2021; Zbl 07355256)] to skew projections.
