Some nonlinear methods induced by linear ones, such as the Lanczos and the CGS methods, are considered. Section 2 points out the link between the nonlinear extensions and the Lanczos and the CGS methods, and presents the implementation of these extensions. A sufficient condition for quadratic convergence of the nonlinear extensions is proved in Section 3. Some numerical examples illustrating these nonlinear extensions are given in the last section.
